My journey with Dunno Tallow began last summer, when I started searching for something gentle enough for my sensitive skin. I discovered tallow cream — and fell in love with it. But the price? Not so much. So I did what any determined person does: I researched, rolled up my sleeves, and started making my own whipped tallow cream at home.

Last year was one of the hardest of my life. I lost two of my sisters, unexpectedly and far too soon. My daughter — my heart — was leaving for her PhD, far away. I'm a Registered Nurse, no stranger to long, stressful days, but grief has a way of making even getting out of bed feel impossible. The only thing I wanted was sleep.

It was my daughter who gently nudged me: "You need a hobby."

So I started making whipped tallow creams. Then I learned to make soap. And something shifted. I began waking up early — not because I had to, but because I couldn't wait to get to my workbench. I became obsessed (in the best way) with finding the most wonderful ingredients, learning everything I could, and crafting something truly special for skin like mine.

I'm also an avid gardener — which, ironically, is where most of my skin allergies come from! 🌿 But it's also where my love of nature and botanicals was born.

When I had more soap than I knew what to do with, I asked my daughter if I could turn this passion into a small business. She said yes. And when I asked what to name it — since tallow is the heart of everything I make — she smiled and said: "Dunno Tallow."
